Chadwick Boseman Covers Shortlist, Discusses Black Cinema
This has been a good week for Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman. He is a magnetic force as he covers ShortList magazine. Dylan Coulter photographs the actor with styling by Ashley Weston. Discussing the importance of a movie like Black Panther and its predominantly black cast, Boseman reflects on black cinema. It happens in cycles. We [will] have a lot of success in black cinema, then it’ll taper off, says Boseman.
There was a certain thing happening in the Nineties with Spike [Lee], [John] Singleton, Reginald Hudlin, the Hughes brothers…all that was happening. I think probably every decade you have one. Now, it’s a new decade, a new time. People like Ava are conscious of what their brands are. Read more on ShortList.com.

#VOTE: Activist Organization Hosts Voter Registration Events At ‘Black Panther’ Screenings
As Black Panther continues to break box office records, it also grows into a cultural phenomenon, shifting the idea of the portrayal of people of color in film. T’Challa’s multi-layered story has gone beyond the confines of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has brought issues of social awareness, representation, and inclusion further to the forefront. That’s why the Movement for Black Lives is using the groundbreaking movie to engage the Black community through voter registration events at Black Panther screenings.
The movement’s Electoral Justice Project (EJP) spearheaded the “Wakanda the Vote” campaign when Black Panther opened this past weekend. The EJP fights for the advancement of the rights of the Black community through electoral strategy. With the 2018 midterm elections right around the corner, EJP hopes to encourage the community to vote during this divisive time in our country and make change.

As stated on their website, the Movement for Black Lives is a coalition of groups and individuals that focus on a “hopeful and inclusive vision of Black joy, safety, and prosperity.” They help combat violence, economic inequality and help individuals realize their greatest dreams. Black Panther lines up with their mission and the screenings of the Marvel film are the perfect spot to engage with the black community.
Through Twitter, the organization sent out a call to action to have people create their own voter registration events. They make it simple and easy and the fact that it happens before and after screenings of Black Panther, where audiences will be more than inclined to make a change.

Jeremy Scott And MAC Cosmetics Turn Up The Volume At Their New Makeup Line Party
The tunes at Moschino designer Jeremy Scott and MAC Cosmetic’s launch party at Public Arts for their new makeup line collaboration weren’t the only things bumping. Inspired by the supermodel and music scene that took over 1980’s and 90’s lower Manhattan, each product is disguised either as a boom box, a mixtape, and even a CD… remember those?

Scott’s 80’s themed, neon party commenced subsequent to his Fall 2018 runway show on Thursday, Feb. 8th. Public Arts was painted with New York’s unmistakable skyline and was transformed into a gala of flashing LED glasses, festive cocktails, and endless rounds of “Dance Dance Revolution.”
VIP guests included 21 Savage, Keke Palmer, Winnie Harlow, Jasmine Sanders, and Ellen von Unwerth. A special performance by the multifaceted band Ssion, who hail from Scott’s hometown of Kansas City, brought the night to an energetic close.

Scott spent around two years working on the collection. When recently asked why the line took so long to piece together, Scott replied that he wanted the special packaging to outlive the products inside, and to act as an inspired, decorative “living thing.”
The collection features an eye-shadow palette completed with warm-toned neutrals and striking, neon shades, a bold lip palette, and a standard contour trio composed of a champagne-colored highlighter, a peachy blush and a rich, chocolaty bronzer. The varieties of color are arranged in each palette as if to mimic sound frequencies found on a turntable.

According to Scott, music and fashion intersect on a level that may not seem immediately apparent, and claims that makeup is a big connective factor between the two.

The MAC x Jeremy Scott collection is now available for purchase on MAC Cosmetics’ website.

Justin Theroux Had ‘Reservations’ About Marrying Jennifer Aniston
Long before Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux tied the knot (and ultimately split), he was perfectly happy with the status of their relationship. In fact, a source tells Us Weekly that the actor wouldn’t have minded if they never walked down the aisle at all.

“He had reservations at the time because they still hadn’t figured out where they were going to live as a couple. Justin was absolutely head over heels in love with Jen — and probably always will be — but marriage was never important to him,” the insider says of Theroux, who was previously in a 14-year relationship with costume designer Heidi Bivens. “Marriage was always just a piece of paper to Justin, and he didn’t need it.”

But Aniston did. “Constant scrutiny of Jen’s personal life, including whether she would ever find her happily ever after, played a huge role in her marriage to Justin,” the source tells Us. “It was obvious Jen needed more than an engagement or to be life partners with Justin. He didn’t want to lose her, so they got married.”
In the end, things didn’t work out and the couple decided to call it quits after two years of marriage. “In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation,” they told Us in a joint statement on Thursday, February 15. “This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”

Aniston, 49, and Theroux, 46, added, “Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
The separation was caused in part by distance. “Jen tried the whole living in New York City thing with Justin, but at heart, she is a California girl,” a source previously told Us. “New York City wasn’t ever going to be home for Jen.”
