The Daily Buzz For April 5 ☕πŸ“°☕

New York Magazine cover depicts Trump as a PIG!
New York magazine is taking a harsh swipe at President Trump with its new cover depicting the president as a pig.
The April 2 issue of the magazine features a close-up photo of Trump with a pig's snout replacing his nose. "Not Collusion... Not Incompetence... Not Cruelty... It's the Corruption, Stupid," the headline reads. "Why His Self-Dealing is His Biggest Political Liability."

The cover story, "Corruption, Not Russia, Is Trump's Greatest Political Liability," hits Trump for what it claims is "corruption" and "greed" in nearly all aspects of his presidency, from his political appointees to his decision to let his sons take over his business after he took office.
"Since Trump took office, his pledge to ignore his own interests has been almost forgotten, lost in a disorienting hurricane of endless news," New York magazine's Jonathan Chait writes. "It is not just a morbid joke but a legitimate problem for the opposition that all the bad news about Trump keeps getting obscured by other bad news about Trump."

"Not only has Trump made no effort to raise ethical standards but he and his administration have flamboyantly violated the existing guidelines," Chait writes. "Lobbyists are seeded in every agency, 'regulating' their former employers and designing rules that favor bosses over employees and business owners over consumers."

The article comes amid a staff shakeup among some of Trump's top officials and mounting scrutiny over his and his son-in-law Jared Kushner's foreign business dealings.
Trump has been the target of unflattering magazine covers before, including Time magazine's depiction of his hair on fire and German magazine Der Spiegel's portrayal of Trump as a "devolved man."

#RHoA: Kenya Throws Shade at Sheree and READ Michael Rappaport BOOTS!
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore had plenty to say about her enemies when she recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live. The Bravo star not only threw shade at her co-star, she also slammed actor Michael Rappaport, who also appeared as guest during the episode.
When host Andy Cohen asked Moore about her reaction to how the other housewives reacted to her husband Marc Daly's debut on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Moore thought it was "all funny shade" but also admitted that she was offended by what co-star Sheree Whitfield had said.

"Well, yeah the nose ring and then what she said on Twitter was out of line. Something about the body language and something about they're not holding hands. This is the girl who has a fashion show with no fashions and built a man cave with no man," said Moore, who has been feuding  with Whitfield on social media as well.

When a fan asked why Whitfield is up Kim Zolciak's butt, Moore managed to throw yet another dig at Whitfield by claiming, "She doesn't have any friends on the show. Kim is all she has."

Meanwhile, Moore reunited with Rappaport after years of feuding on Twitter and it's safe to say the pair hasn't buried the hatchet. When Cohen asked Moore to address the beef, Moore declared, "Peasants can't summon queens."

"You do know that you are on the show, like a 'villain,' right? You have to know this, correct?" Rappaport asked Moore.

"Michael, you don't have to tell me what I am or am not. I appreciate you being a fan though. Thank you for watching and keep the cable on. A new job would help with that," said Moore, alluding to Rappaport's Barstool Sports firing scandal.

When Rappaport told the RHOA star, "You wish you were me, Kenya," she lashed back with another dig, "A middle aged, fat, white guy? No, not really. And out of work. No."

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.

#EMPIRE: Jussie Smollett says the Fox drama is a “hip hop 'Game of Thrones'”
Empire  is back and one of the show’s leading stars, Jussie Smollett, tells ABC Radio that his character Jamal Lyon “just needs a hug.”
“With Jamal, he’s definitely going through it… He needs a vacation. He needs a staycation. He’s just going through it, man!”
Jussie continues, “He accidentally killed Angelo [DuBois]! So that sucks. But, he’s also dealing with the effects of what’s happened to his family.”

Jussie says that what he loves about this season is that “we finally see Lucious and Cookie come together and I think that we’ve been waiting for that for a really long time. For a really long time. And finally we see the family intact as much as they possibly can be intact, and…fighting outside sources versus fighting each other.”

The actor and singer gives more insight into what fans can expect in upcoming episodes of Empire.

“We’ve seen… everything that [the Lyons] went through… the things that may frustrate us or annoy us or, ‘God why can’t they just be happy?’,” says Jussie. “Now we start to see them, still [with] the same amount of drama, still the same amount of craziness, but at least, with each other, [all five Lyons] are finding a kind of a middle ground.”

“Sounds like Game of Thrones,” he laughs. “This is hip-hop Game of Thrones. That’s Empire,” Jussie declares.

Empire is on Wednesday’s at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

#MUSICNEWS: Janet Jackson, Future, Florence & the Machine Set To Headline 2018 FYF Fest!

In a recent statement, Yacoubian discussed her sentiments for the festival, “FYF has been a Los Angeles staple for the past 15 years (happy anniversary to us!), and a very special event with a diverse booking that is unique to the festival. In the past 15 years, this festival has grown immensely with a strong team of women and men behind it to bring fans the best weekend of summer. And with incredible artists like Janet Jackson and Florence + The Machine topping this year’s bill, we are so psyched to have two badass women leading the roster as we head into FYF Fest 2018.”
Dubbing themselves as the best weekend in summer, FYF has become a local staple. Every year the festival takes over the Exposition Park joining music lovers in one space for a few days.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 6 at noon. American Express Card Members can purchase all passes before the general public beginning Tuesday, April 3rd at 10 am through Thursday, April 5th at 10 pm PT. Two-day passes cost $249 while single-day tickets cost $149. A VIP pass will set you back $549.

In its fourth year, FYF is teaming up with Plus 1 to donate $1 of every ticket sold to high impact organizations working to support the people in our communities who need it the most, both locally and globally.

#HIPHOPNEWS: Kanye West Spotted At Rick Rubin's Calabasas Studio
CALABASAS, CA – Photos of Kanye West and his aunt visiting Rick Rubin at his studio in Calabasas, California have surfaced. On Sunday (April 1), a Czech website posted several images captured by paparazzi that show West hugging the Def Jam Recordings co-founder and smiling before entering the compound.

Their meeting sparks more speculation that a West album is imminent. West recruited Rubin to help him finalize Yeezy in 2013, five weeks before its scheduled release and it’s possible Ye is looking to the legendary producer to make magic again. Rubin also served as producer on 2016’s The Life Of Pablo.
Over the past several months, Ye has been traveling to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where he’s been working on music. Drake, Travis Scott, Pierre Bourne, The-Dream, Kid Cudi and Nas have all made the trek to the small ski town, sparking whispers of several high profile collaborations.
E! News recently reported West wanted to release new material soon.

“Kanye loves to escape to Wyoming to record his music because it is peaceful and he can lock up and really focus on getting tracks done,” an anonymous source told E! “He thinks by being at the mountains, he doesn’t have many distractions and can have a more clear sense of direction for his music. That is why he usually escapes there when he is in the zone to get things done.”

Burglars Attempted to Break Into Viola Davis’ Home While Actress Slept
There are few things more unsettling than hearing your window shatter in the middle of the night, an experience Emmy winner Viola Davis and husband, Julian Tennon, recently endured after burglars attempted to break into their California home.

TMZ reports the couple was asleep in their upstairs bedroom when they heard the sound of glass breaking in the middle of the night, only to awake and realize the perpetrators climbed a ladder to the second floor and jumped onto their private balcony. The couple then turned on the lights, which sent the attempted thieves running.
The incident was reportedly recorded via surveillance video, with the Tennons filing a police report in hopes of catching the three men seen “wearing hoodies and gloves.

Rob Kardashian Planning to Slash Blac Chyna’s Child Support
Last year, Rob Kardashian agreed to pay Blac Chyna $20,000 a month in child support.
Insiders tell TMZ Rob is currently paying Chyna $20,000 a month in child support, which he thinks is ridiculous for several reasons. First, they have 50/50 joint custody so the monthly paying is absurd. More to the point, she makes way more than him. In fact, his earning power has been reduced to zero since he was

Rob is also concerned Chyna is bringing new men — the latest of which is her 18-year-old bf, YBN Almighty Jay — into her home when the child is present. He wants an order similar to the one in the Jesse Williams custody case … where neither parent can introduce a boyfriend or girlfriend to the child unless the relationship lasts longer than 6 months.

Spotify Sets MASSIVE Record In their Stock Market Debut
NEW YORK, NY – Spotify debuted on the New York Stock Exchange, opening with shares as high as $165.95 on Tuesday (April 3). The streaming service made the largest-ever direct listing, valuing the company at close to $30 billion, according to Reuters.

Shares were up 26 percent from the $132 reference price listed by the NYSE on Monday (April 2). Spotify’s valuation was a dramatic increase from the $8.4 billion it was pegged at in 2015.

“We set out to reimagine the music industry and to provide a better way for both artists and consumers to benefit from the digital transformation of the music industry,” the company said in its February filing. “Spotify was founded on the belief that music is universal and that streaming is a more robust and seamless access model that benefits both artists and music fans.”

NYSE president Thomas Farley addressed why his stock exchange handled Spotify’s listing as opposed to NASDAQ.
“People have asked me why @Spotify chose the @NYSE for this unique listing,” Farley wrote on Twitter. “The answer is simple: we excel at large, complex financial transactions like this. The NYSE market model allowed Spotify to confidently list their shares on the New York Stock Exchange.”

Spotify shares closed at $149.60 on Tuesday.

Wonder Woman has finally received her star! Lynda Carter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday afternoon (April 3) on Hollywood Blvd in Los Angeles.

Woman who allegedly carried out YouTube shooting is identified by police
The person who allegedly shot at least three people at YouTube's campus on Tuesday afternoon has been identified as Nasim Najafi Aghdam, according to senior law enforcement officials.

Aghdam died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound, according to police.
Police responded to YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California, around 1 p.m. local time on Tuesday. Approximately 1,100 people work in the complex, which is about 20 miles away from Google's main campus in Mountain View.

Authorities said terrorism does not appear to be a motive at this time. The woman, who was 39 years old, is believed to have carried out the attack because of a domestic dispute, officials said, though subsequent information may have contradicted that theory.

San Bruno police later tweeted an image of Aghdam.
According to the Bay Area News Group, a law enforcement source said after the shooting that the suspect may have been targeting a boyfriend. Subsequently, however, Aghdam's father told the media organization that she was a vegan activist and was angered by the company's handling of her online videos.
Aghdam, who authorities say last lived in the San Diego area, had previously claimed in a video that YouTube "discriminated and filtered" her content, according to NBC Bay Area.

The shooter used a 9 mm handgun.

#BLUEWAVE Democrats Score Big Win In Wisconsin Supreme Court Race
Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Rebecca Dallet won a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court Tuesday, a victory for Democrats that gives more momentum for a potential blue wave in the November midterm elections.

State Supreme Court races rarely merit national attention. The Wisconsin election ― which gives justices a 10-year term ― was officially nonpartisan, but it was crystal clear where the partisan lines formed.
It’s the first time in more than a decade that a liberal candidate won an open Supreme Court seat in the state. Dallet was winning by double digits when the race was officially called in her favor.
Dallet picked up endorsements from former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.), while former Attorney General Eric Holder went to the state to campaign for her.

Dallet defeated Sauk County Circuit Judge Michael Screnock, an appointee of Gov. Scott Walker (R) who had his own big-time backing from the National Rifle Association.

“We beat the NRA, and we beat the millions in special interest money that flowed into our state,” Dallet said in her victory speech Tuesday night.
Conservatives will still control the court, although their majority drops from 5-2 to 4-3 with Dallet’s win.
Walker tweeted that the results in the race showed Democrats clearly had momentum on their side.

During the campaign, the two candidate criticized each other as beholden to outside interests and for being activist judges.
Outside groups spent more than $2 million on the race, about evenly split between the two sides.
With Dallet’s win, six of the seven justices on Wisconsin’s high court are women, as DailyKos noted, meaning the state ties with Washington for the greatest number of female Supreme Court justices.
These days, every state legislative race and special election ― which in other cycles might go by unnoticed ― is getting extra attention because of the message the results may send about what will happen in November.
Democrats, stunned by their losses in 2016, have thrown energy into organizing and mobilizing since President Donald Trump’s election. They’ve flipped 39 state legislative seats from red to blue during Trump’s term, plus the governor’s seat in New Jersey, the U.S. Senate seat in Alabama and the 18th Congressional District in Pennsylvania.

Republicans, meanwhile, have turned just four state legislative districts from blue to red.
In January, Democrats had another big win in Wisconsin: They took a state Senate seat that Republicans had held since 2001. Trump had won the district by 17 percentage points.
Republicans have a powerful political machine in Wisconsin, and Democrats recognize that picking up ― and holding onto seats ― in November won’t be easy, especially with Walker on the ballot seeking a third term.
But even Walker called Democrats’ surprise win in January a “wake-up call,” and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said Republicans should absolutely “pay attention” to the results.

“One thing is clear: our voters across Wisconsin are organized and energized for November,” said Martha Laning, chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

#OOOPS! Blac Chyna Loses her Baby Stroller Deal After Six Flags Fight!
Due to Blac Chyna’s recent antics reportedly jeopardize the business deal with UK  stroller co., Momiie.
Back in February it was reported,  Blac Chyna has signed a seven-figure deal with the UK stroller and baby collection company Babiie,” a source told Radar.

The lucrative deal was inked after she and Rob fought in court over his sharing of her nude videos and photos in a vicious revenge porn rant.
The source also told Radar that Chyna’s Body Blendz line was taking off and would be sold in 450 Australian stores by the summer.

BUT THIS JUST IN! The deal is off!
According to reports, Blac Chyna pushed a stroller company too far, and now she’s lost a deal that could have landed her a big payday … TMZ has learned.
Sources involved in the deal with the stroller co., Momiie, tell us … it’s pulled the plug on its collab with Chyna in wake of her stroller-swinging skirmish Sunday at Six Flags.

We’re told the incident was not the sole reason for Momiie’s decision. Honchos had already grown uneasy with Chyna’s behavioral issues — not to mention a leaked sex tape — and the impact it might have on their brand. The fight video was definitely the final nail in the coffin.

A rep for Momiie adds Chyna’s latest actions made it impossible to move forward with their business relationship, telling us … “[We] cannot excuse that sort of reaction and behavior particularly in a family resort around children.”

Watch The Trailer For ‘Grace Jones: Bloodlight And Bami’
Ladies and Gentleman Miss Grace Jones has Arrived!

The “original” Queen of Shock—GRACE JONES is the subject of a new documentary that will be arriving in theaters on Friday, April 13 titled Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami.

Larger than life, wild, scary and androgynous – Miss Grace Jones plays all these parts. Yet here we also discover her as a lover, daughter, mother, sister and even grandmother, as she submits herself to our gaze and allows us to understand what constitutes her mask. The stage is where her most extreme embodiments are realized and her theatrical imagination lets loose: this is where the musical of her life is played out.

The film includes Grace’s unique performances singing iconic hits such as “Slave To The Rhythm,” “Pull Up To The Bumper,” as well as the more recent autobiographical tracks “Williams’ Bloods” and “Hurricane.” These personal songs also link to Grace’s family life, as the film takes us on a holiday road trip across Jamaica, where her family roots and the story of her traumatic childhood are uncovered.

In Jamaican patois, ‘Bloodlight’ is the red light that illuminates when an artist is recording and ‘Bami’ means bread, the substance of daily life. Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami weaves together the layers of Grace Jones’ public and private life, as she moves effortlessly between different facets: she is gypsy, artist and partying hedonist, warm and funny but also a fierce and tenacious businesswoman.

The performance continues to move thematically though the film, with “Love Is The Drug” acting like an aria, bringing the film to its final and most touching scenes. This is a Grace we have not seen before, someone who reminds us of what it is to dare to be truly alive.

THIS LOOKS GREAT! Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami is directed by Sophie Fiennes.
